My husband and I started our weight loss journey via Bariatric surgery duodenal switch in June 2023 after reviewing with Dr. Chang, our medical history and previous weight loss attempts we thought this was the right path to go. I knew from my past attempts at losing weight, my metabolism was at a halt at 50 years old and it was so difficult for me to lose weight and keep it off. The surgery absolutely assisted with limiting the amount of food that I ate however, it was just a tool, not a fix. Prior to surgery I had already begun my healthy lifestyle by Implementing intermittent fasting, high protein diet, smaller portions and low carb vegetables along with working out 3 to 5 times per week at 60 minutes per workout. I can tell you even after the surgery 6 months in it was a definite struggle. My husband lost weight easily with no exercise and no change to his eating habits besides the surgery limiting the amount of food that he could eat. You can imagine as a wife, how frustrating that was. Instead of staying in that space, I remembered my goals of wanting to be athletic and improve my overall health and well-being knowing that genetically I was predisposed to heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. I decided this was a journey, and not a destination and was able to adjust my focus successfully going from my highest at 265 pounds now down to 139 pounds. I have gone from a size 22/24 to a size 6 almost a size 4. More so than just the size, I am no longer prediabetic and I no longer have the need to worry about heart disease. My blood pressure is still something I have to watch as at this point we’ve determined its hereditary. Finally I’m happy in my own skin and with the results of surgical assistance and hard work! I sincerely Thank Dr. Chang and her staff For all their assistance and support throughout the process. I look forward to continuing 5ks, Strength training, traveling and energetic activities with my grandchildren and if God allows my great grandchildren! My advice for anyone who’s looking into any baratric surgical solution ensure that you’re willing to also do your part and be emotionally ready for this journey and to implement steps that will last long past the effectiveness of the surgery.

I can’t even begin to brag about how phenomenal Dr. Turnquest and his staff were during this process. I almost 2 weeks post op and has experienced the best surgical treatment ever!!! He’s kind, thorough, and a expert in his field. He communicates with you in great details. He truly care for his patients and you can feel it. I had a gastric sleeve and only required pain medication for 3 days max. His office staff members are very kind and has great customer service skills. They don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them. Very helpful team. I cannot begin to thank Dominique, his bariatric coordinator for all her help. She made me have the easiest experience ever. Also, his nurse is so sweet as well. I think her name is Marsha. Overall, I would recommend him to EVERYONE! Also, I have to mention Jennifer at HCA Northwest. His hospital team is freaking amazing. My experience with Dr. Turnquest has been amazing! I can’t say the same for the staff! I was charged $25.00 to complete my FLMA paperwork! I clearly explained that I needed it for Intermittent. When my job received it, it was for continuous fmla. I spoke with the office and was told they only do continuous! If that was the case when I explained I needed intermittent the rep should have said that before she took my payment! So I clearly gave away money not to mention I couldn’t understand stand why they even charged for that!

I had a gastric bybass done by Dr. Chang. My appointments were at the red oak location. I was never left just wondering what my next move needed to be. Everyone on the phone and in person were pleasant and patient to speak with. Prompt to respond to any inquiries via phone or email. Dr. Chang is very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. No question is too small to answer. I lost my father days before my surgery and rescheduling was no problem. They also were not push and aggressive when it came to paying surgeon’s fee etc. I definitely recommend this practice to others looking for services rendered by Turnquest Solutions.
