Financing Options
Once you contact our office, our staff will schedule an appointment and will verify insurance information so that we can expedite your insurance process. If you are unsure of your coverage, please check with your insurance company. If you are not covered by insurance, several options for financing your procedure are available and we will be happy to help arrange this.
On your first visit, you will meet with our bariatric coordinator, who will review your insurance requirements. Depending on your type of insurance, you will need to gather the following information:
- Medical record for 2-5 years
- 1 meeting with a psychologist
- 1 meeting with a dietician
- Show that you have participated in a supervised diet or exercise program over a 3 month to 1 year period
Once everything has been reviewed, our office will submit the information to the insurance company. It may take between 15-30 days to gain approval. We will contact you once the insurance company approves your procedure.
Dr. Turnquest is affiliated with a Cigna Center for bariatric surgery. The CIGNA designation is based on multiple criteria including, but not limited to, full approval by the Surgical Review Corporation and/or American College of Surgeons, meeting CIGNA clinical outcomes thresholds for complications, mortality, re-admissions within 30 days of discharge and re-operation within 30 days after initial operation, range of obesity services, and number of bariatric surgery procedures performed. |
